An Ammeter, (short from Ampere Meter), is an instrument designed to measure and display the current traveling through a single or three-phase circuit. The International System of Units states that the flow of electricity, or current, is measured in Amps (amperes), hence the name Ammeter.
Traditional Ammeters have a set scale with a needle indicating the instantaneous current. The modern ammeters that we range feature an easy read display with a wide viewing angle and programmable backlit display that can change colour, for example if there is a surge in current. They’re supplied with easy to use software allowing custom scales to be set as well as alarms, all via USB. Our ammeters are designed to be panel mounted into a 72x72mm cut-out and are used with current transformers, allowing accurate measurements up to 10,000 amps
