Challenge:
Our client was looking to monitor the current on each phase of a 3-phase supply in an industrial setting. The factory had a number of machines with high energy consumption and so they wanted to install an ammeter on each phase of the supply, allowing them to detect abnormally high or low current levels. This could indicate a faulty component, short circuit, or other problems in their system.
Solution:
S P Wales offered the innovative Trumeter APM Power Meter, an advanced digital ammeter that can be used to measure current on all three phases, (traditional solutions would require three separate ammeters). Not only did this save space, but the Power Meter also features a backlit LCD display that can be configured to change colour upon certain events, such as high or low current levels.
The meter was pre-wired into a steel enclosure complete with CT links and fused links for the auxiliary power supply and was completed with a set of three 300/5A split core CT’s. This turnkey solution offered a simple installation for the installer and delivered an effective solution for the end user.
